The sentencing for Rahiem Griffin will happen later today and he faces a maximum of seven years in prison.
The sentencing fall on the fifth month of the passing of Suffolk County Officer Glen Ciano.
Officer Ciano, a highly regarded veteran cop of twenty-two (22) years, met in a traffic accident on Sunday, February 22, 2009 but unlike the Sunday accident with Nassau County Officer Kenneth Baribault on the (LIE) Long Island Expressway, Officer Ciano was not fortunate to have survived the accident due to his patrol car bursting into flames by the Vanderbilt Motor Parkway.

Today marks the fifth month of the passing of Suffolk County Officer Glen Ciano.
Officer Ciano was hit by an alleged drunk driver while in his patrol car by a 2007 Dodge Magnum which is alleged to have been driven by Jose Borbon of Plainview.
The fifth month passing of Oficer Ciano falls on the sentencing date of Rahiem Griffin who faces a maximum of seven years in prison when he is sentenced later today.

It took fifty-four (54) weeks for Rahiem Griffin’s trail to begin on Monday, June 1, 2009 and in the blink of an eye, Griffin was convicted yesterday, Monday, June 15, 2009 after the jury deliberated for two (2) days.
With the conviction over his head, Griffin faces a maximum of seven years in prison when he is sentenced on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 which is the five (5) month anniversary of Suffolk County Police Officer Glen Ciano.
Officer Ciano’s death has been alleged to have been caused by Jose Borbon of Plainview.
On Facebook, a few of the members plan to contact their congressman and senator as they feel that the current laws that are in place for DUI (Driving Under the Influence) offenders are not enough to deter people away from drinking and driving.

The courtroom was fired up to hear testimony and that they did Yesterday from 9/11 survivor, Philip Scarfi, who is also a New York City Firefighter of the Bedford-Stuyvesant’s Engine 235.
By now you should have know that Scarfi’s quick thinking and action fifty-four (54) weeks ago helped in improving the chances of Nassau County Police Officer, Kenneth Baribault’s survival even though Scarfi’s safety could be compromised trying to cross six (6) lanes of traffic.
For his “heroic” performance, Nassau police honored Philip Scarfi (along with Captain Vincent LoRusso who was previously named “Police Officer of The Month” back in December 2007 by TSLI) on September 9, 2008.
