McNaughton Reports for Army Duty
October 4, 2009 is the seveth year since NYPD Officer James D. McNaughton reported for duty in the Army. It wasn’t until three years later on Tuesday, August 2, 2005, that McNaughton became the first New York City cop to be killed in Iraq.
In his honor for his service in New York and Iraq, tributes has been held at Mulcahy’s of Wantagh – Pub and Concert Hall located at 3232 Railroad Avenue.
Mulcahy’s is the one and the same that was also used in 2008 on August 14th for a fundraiser to benefit New York Police Officer Kenneth Baribault and his son Christopher.
Here are a few links with some further background on James McNaughton, as well as some with photos from the first 3 years of tribute.
