Dodge Driver Dodged Felony Charge
It is sad for New York, Suffolk County and the Ciano family that Police Officer Glen Ciano is gone but is it sadder to learn that the alleged drunk driver of the 2007 Dodge Magnum that made contact with Ciano’s patrol car had dodged a felony charge from January of 2009.
The driver, Jose Borbon, was previously arrested seven (7) Sundays before on Sunday, January 4, 2009 for an alleged “drunk driving” and “carrying a concealed [gravity] knife.”
Borbon’s charge was reduced (according to court transcripts) just five (5) days before the accident with Officer Ciano since the knife was not used to commit a crime.
